Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween y'all! Pumpkins are the theme of this day and we are going to carve a few this afternoon. Halloween is a huge holiday in our neighborhood. There will be kids everywhere!! Baby Matthew is going to be a hotdog. He will probably get one stroll around the block in his costume and then it will be time for bed. I can't wait till he is old enough to actually enjoy it!

Here he is at his first trip to the Pumpkin Patch.

Today is not the last day for pumpkins, decorate with them all through the month of November. Use them as place settings, table decorations or even set one on the front porch with your address on it. I love the white and pale blue/green pumpkins!

Genetically Glamorous

Did any of you see beauty heiress, Aerin Lauder's, glamorous new Manhattan office featured in Architectural Digest? Oh to be a Lauder...

Aerin partnered with designer Jacques Granger to create a stylish headquarters for her new home furnishings and fashion business, Aerin.  I love the Palm Beach influences of Aerin's grandmother, the ever-famous, Estee Lauder, throughout the space. You can't help but think that style is in her genes.  That green couch with blue accents is to die for!

Check out that over sized painting...swoon...

Key West Dining

If you're anything like me, you love a great restaurant recommendation. Believe it or not, the six of us on the Key West trip didn't have too many recommendations before hand, so we were kind of on our own to find the good spots.

Key West has a ton of restaurants, but you definitely have to weed through a lot of tourist traps to find the good ones. We're so happy we did! Here's a look at my top four favorites.

Don't underestimate this hole-in-the-wall spot. It's take-out at its best! And they serve breakfast and lunch all day. The girls picked up lunch here one day (a mix of cuban and club sandwiches with plantain chips) and took it back home to eat overlooking the marina. We also had breakfast delivered one morning. Definitely a winner!

Another casual day spot is Blue Heaven. We hit up their brunch on Friday, and it didn't disappoint. It's the kind of place where you have a mimosa and stay awhile...and that's exactly what we did!

Blue Heaven features live music all day, which is definitely a treat. But the real attraction might be all the chickens and roosters roaming around! Or you might just be like me and look over your shoulder every couple of minutes to make sure one isn't sneaking up you. Guilty.

My absolute favorite dinner was at Cafe Marquesa. We came across it while walking one day. I mean, who could resist its charm?

Elizabeth said she saw their big wine glasses through the window and knew it was a great place. One glance at the menu, and we were sold. I just found out that Cafe Marquesa has the highest Zagat rating in Key West. Well done!

A bit of a side note...we don't have devil eyes in person. Thank you, iPhone.

The Grand Cafe comes in a close second. The food here is absolutely divine! My pictures of the restaurant don't do it justice, so here's one from another source.

Top Baby Items

To all of the mom's to be out there who are looking for great baby products, I have made a list of things I think you can't live without. Now that Matthew is 4 months old, I have had time to try out several things. In my opinion, these are the must haves when it comes to day to day life with a new baby. For more must haves check out Kate's post from a few months ago.

Fisher Price Rock & Play Sleeper - Matthew slept in this during his first few months home. It's great for babies with reflux because it keeps them on an incline.

Fisher Price Kick & Play Piano Gym  - Not only does this visually entertain your baby, it also gives them something to kick. This has been key for us!
Aden + Anais Swaddle Blankets - These blankets are both soft and lightweight. Perfect for a summer baby.

Dr. Brown's Bottles - In my opinion, these are the best bottles for preventing the ingestion of air bubbles.

Diaper Genie - It works. You cannot smell dirty diapers in our house!

Breathable Mesh Crib Liner - I have this in white. It is nice because it lines the crib, keeps legs and pacifiers in, but you don't run the risk of suffocation that you do with a traditional bumper.

Summer Infant SwaddleMe - I definitely recommend swaddling and this is the easy way to do it - velcro.

Summer Infant SwaddleMe Sack - Once your baby graduates from swaddling, this wearable blanket is great.

We have the Chicco Keyfit 30 and it has been a great carseat so far. It's not too heavy.

Chicco KeyFit Caddy - This stroller is the bomb! It's lightweight, folds up so easily and fits in the back of my car. When I say it has made my life with a baby easier, I mean it. You can actually run errands with ease. Just click the carseat into the stroller and go. I've got to give Kate credit for this one. She told me about it and I love her for it. :)

Here's my little guy at 4 months old.
