Last week I posted on baby girl clothes here, so it's only fitting to follow it up with the boys this week. Also since I have a little guy I have learned a lot more about boy's clothing. Starting out my favorites were the Kissy Kissy covertible gowns, they are soft and come in great basic colors. At first we used them as gowns then when he starting kicking and moving around more just snap them up as pant legs = genius!
|Burberry, Splendid, Kissy Kissy, Marc Jacobs available at Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales|
Ralph Lauren has some great options for babies ranging from their classic polos to the footed Kimono 2 pieces. The top left green coverall outfit below can be personalized with a custom monogram of your choice here, choose your color, next decide if you want a horse logo or monogram, then choose your stitch color = pretty cool! Middle seer sucker diaper cover can be monogrammed too!
The last two pages are some of my favorite outfits of my little one. The middle left is the Kissy Kissy convertible gowns as mentioned.... I embarrassed to say how many we have!
I love a good beach bag and a few have caught my eye recently. I love the vibrant colors and cool textures of these bags! I usually buy one in the spring to get me excited about summer beach days. Below are some great choices if you are in the market for a cool beach bag. Which one is your favorite?

I just realized that I've been blogging for almost an entire year and haven't yet given a shout-out to my home state. Shame on me.
Well folks, I'm a Mississippian. You've probably noticed an underlying theme with our blog - the South. Obviously not every posts acknowledges it, but it's hard to deny the blog's southern feel...gracious entertaining, functional interiors, to-die-for recipes...the list goes on and on.
I think it's fair to say that between the five of us, we have the South covered. Here's a recap:
Anne Read: Mississippi > Alabama > Georgia
Kate: North Carolina > Alabama
Lindsay: Tennessee > Alabama > Texas > Georgia
Leah: Alabama > Georgia > Florida > Alabama
Charlotte: Alabama > Georgia > Alabama
My apologies to Arkansas, Louisiana, Kentucky, and South Carolina. Maybe we'll get to you one day. I did spend a summer in Charleston. Does that count?
Today, I thought I would highlight unique items made in the state of Mississippi. And of course, all of these products have this Mississippian's stamp of approval. Enjoy!
My grandmother mails me a package of goodies every month (yes college friends, she still does), and Lillo's dressing is always in it. It has more of an olive-y taste than other Italian dressings - so good!
These all-natural soybean wax candles smell divine. Their signature Delta scent is my favorite.
Such a clever creation! And of course, I have to mention that two Chi Omegas started the brand. Read their story here.
So many uses, so little time.
This pottery business started by Lee and Pup McCarty in 1954 still remains in the McCarty family. I have several bowls and vases of their green variety.
Great on burgers, chicken, fries, anything really. I almost overdosed on this (intentionally) in 2009. Still recovering.

Some of you might not know but I am getting hitched on September 22 of this year. Yes, that's correct, this year. This date leaves me very little time to A. figure out what I like and B. get it all planned. However, with such little time I am realizing it is giving me less time to change my mind - not a bad thing I suppose. With that being said, I am still up in the air on reception table arrangements / flower arrangements. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Below are a couple that have caught my eye. Please share your favorites with us!!!!!!

Late last year Celerie Kemble renewed a craze for black and white in interior design. Black and white paired together can make a room feel so crisp and clean. The combination can also create a very severe look. I always say that I love neutral interiors and this coupling of neutrals is no exception. Stark white walls or dark black walls make such a great and visually interesting statement. The sharpness these two colors create will not go unnoticed.
What do you think? Just right or in need of some color?

Summer is almost here and I have had the following conversation with many people as we transition (thank goodness) from winter pale into summer bronze:
Do you know any good self tanners?
Well ladies, I have found a product that is literally fool proof and so easy to apply! Tan Towels!
The ladies at Woo turned me onto this product and I love it. They are basically wet wipes with self tanner on them. You simply wipe down your body at night and voila, you have a nice color in the morning. They do not stain your sheets either! I suggest two things: start in your middle section when the towelette is fresh and then do your legs last (helps with the whole fool proof thing). Another tip is to apply plain body lotion over top the self tanner to help spread the tanner/coat your body better. Tan Towel does have their own On the Glow moisturizer you could purchase for this step.
I suggest buying the full body box ($24-$27 for 5 pack) and the half body box ($24-$27 for 10 pack). I use a full body towelette at night all over- including my face- and then to really boost the color, apply a half body application on my face, arms and legs in the morning. Yes, these are safe for your face too!
I use the ones for skin ton. Don't be afraid of the color, as the fair is really light. Unless you are very light skinned, I would go for the medium to dark skin tone towelettes. These are just great and you will have no streaks and no orange coloring! You can buy them at many retailers (including Woo Skincare in Atlanta), Amazon or here.
Another great self tanner for face is Dr. Dennis Gross' Alpha Beta Glow Pad. I love Dr. Dennis Gross products and this one is no exception. These pads are similar to Tan Towels but have anti-aging benefits. If you are looking for a self tanner with more benefits or a product specifically for your face, this is your best bet. They are $45 for an 8-pack and while pricey, totally worth it. You can get these at many retailers (also sold at Woo in Atlanta/Nashville), Amazon or here.
Both of these products are great options before you hit the beach or for a little color boost in between spray tans and vacations!

Need a gift for a baby shower or newborn girl? I know most people register at places like babies r us and there are so many things that the parents to be "really need," but if you are like me, I love to give clothes when buying a baby gift for a little girl. It is just too much fun shopping for baby clothes. They are so adorable and I love browsing all the different styles. Don't get me wrong there are lots of bad baby clothes out there and everyone seems to have different taste and opinions about children clothing. So you may not agree with my selection of cute clothes, but here is what I would give as a gift and where to buy. Baby boy clothes soon to follow....
