Like a Local: Augusta's Takosushi

Lately, I've been spending a lot of time in Augusta for work. There is one highlight to my typical Augusta stay: Takosushi!

What is Takosushi, you ask? It is an amazing restaurant that serves (you guessed it!) tacos and sushi! Takosushi blends the Far East with the Southwest. Brilliant. My personal favorites are the Southwest Tuna Tartare (heaven) and the Unforgettable Roll. Doesn't this look divine?

Are you hungry yet? There are five locations total: Augusta and Evans, GA, and Aiken, Greenville, and Columbia, SC. Next time you're visiting one of these cities, give Takosushi a try! Tell them that Anne Read sent you...Kidding! They have no idea who I am :)

Blazers on a Budget

What's with all this crazy weather in January? It is so hard to dress because one day it is your typical January temps and the next day it is spring-y and 60. Who knows if this mild weather is here to stay or not, but I find a blazer is the perfect lightweight jacket for these unseasonable temps. Not to mention, a colorful one is such a statement piece. I did some research and found some great options- ALL UNDER $100!

Some of these are total steals! Pair with skinny jeans and a tank (or long sleeve top when it gets chillier) and you are good to go!

Try this boxy, cropped version from H&M

Bring out the sun with this yellow blazer from H&M- I would probably go with stripes underneath, instead of on the bottom.

Speaking of stripes, I love this nautical version from Piperlime. I sequin top would be killer paired with this one.

I love a slouchy blazer!

I LOVE the modern spin on this military silhouette blazer- it is actually made of cardigan material!

Jump on the color-blocking bandwagon! This one comes in red, tan and black.

Everyone needs a classic, black blazer in their wardrobe.

And last, but not least how fun is this one from ASOS?

SAG Awards

Bravo ladies! The dresses were MUCH better this time around I have to admit, I liked so many dresses. I love that there are more in the best dressed category than in worst dressed!

Emily Blunt: love, love the color of this dress- looks great!

Sophia: yes, we get that you can pull off the sultry siren look. We know this strapless mermaid shape looks great on you, but next time try something new.

Julie Bowen: this color and look= A+.

Jessica Chastain (from The Help): she looked fabulous!

Nicely done Stacy. It helps to have Georgie boy on your arm though. Enjoy it while it lasts!

Jayma, surprised to find you on my best dressed!

Amber= Sexy!

I thought all these ladies looked great as well. Lea looks much, much better than at the Globes but I'm still getting the "I am trying to look like Halle Berry vibe". I love Rose Byrne and think she looks great but other critics may think the bangs and pant suit were too risky.

Giulana- you look stunning- love the dress, color, and detail!
Kyra looks hot for her age but when they showed her backside....well let's just say she needs to eat!

WORST DRESSED- no explanation needed!

Blouse It Out

This is some January we're having! Savannah has seen many 70 degree days lately, so I've had to adjust my usual winter wardrobe. The comfy sweater just isn't working out so well.

I have found myself turning to light blouses for most work days and even nights. A blouse keeps you comfortable on those unusually warm days. And if the night does turn chilly, they layer really well. I opt for a three-quarter or long sleeve. I don't think anyone is interested in seeing my pale winter arms!

All of these options below are under $100...you're welcome! Most are pretty versatile and could transition well from work to happy hour drinks (well, maybe not the fringe back one). I particularly like the back details in several of these.

Beautiful Thursday

I thought we might need a little mindless eye candy today at Collect5. With a crazy week behind and in front of me, I can't help but want to give my brain a break with these beautiful images....sigh. Who knows, maybe you will draw some inspiration.
