Key West Dining

If you're anything like me, you love a great restaurant recommendation. Believe it or not, the six of us on the Key West trip didn't have too many recommendations before hand, so we were kind of on our own to find the good spots.
Key West has a ton of restaurants, but you definitely have to weed through a lot of tourist traps to find the good ones. We're so happy we did! Here's a look at my top four favorites.
Don't underestimate this hole-in-the-wall spot. It's take-out at its best! And they serve breakfast and lunch all day. The girls picked up lunch here one day (a mix of cuban and club sandwiches with plantain chips) and took it back home to eat overlooking the marina. We also had breakfast delivered one morning. Definitely a winner!

Another casual day spot is Blue Heaven. We hit up their brunch on Friday, and it didn't disappoint. It's the kind of place where you have a mimosa and stay awhile...and that's exactly what we did!
Blue Heaven features live music all day, which is definitely a treat. But the real attraction might be all the chickens and roosters roaming around! Or you might just be like me and look over your shoulder every couple of minutes to make sure one isn't sneaking up you. Guilty.

My absolute favorite dinner was at Cafe Marquesa. We came across it while walking one day. I mean, who could resist its charm?

Elizabeth said she saw their big wine glasses through the window and knew it was a great place. One glance at the menu, and we were sold. I just found out that Cafe Marquesa has the highest Zagat rating in Key West. Well done!
A bit of a side note...we don't have devil eyes in person. Thank you, iPhone.
The Grand Cafe comes in a close second. The food here is absolutely divine! My pictures of the restaurant don't do it justice, so here's one from another source.
