Susanne Rowell of Tenth Avenue South

Hi! I'm Susanne from TenthAvenueSouth and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to share some of our renovation projects with you.

My husband bought our 1956 house when we were dating. Little by little, we've transformed it into the home we share and love today! Our first big renovation project was the kitchen. No more tired laminate... we completely gutted and remodeled our original 1956 kitchen ourselves! The only thing we kept was the floor. We demoed, repaired drywall, installed lighting, installed cabinets, appliances, faucets and fixtures. We painted, installed molding, and tiled the backsplash. We finished the kitchen remodel just in time to celebrate our 1st anniversary in our first home.

We LOVE the result. Our white and gray kitchen has completely changed the look of our whole house.
You can read more about our kitchen renovation here.

About a year later, after we finally recovered from our kitchen renovation, we decided to tackle our master bath. The original green tile was charming, but beginning to show its age and the bathroom as a whole did not function as well as we wanted it to. Once again we demoed, drywalled, poured floors, tiled, painted, and accessorized! We kept the sink and toilet, but everything else is new.

When we finally finished our renovation we were so pleased. It made all the hard work worth it!
You can find the real reason we started this bathroom renovation and all of the details on my blog.

Thanks again, Collect V ladies, for letting me share!

Anna Dees of ExVoto

Hi! I'm Anna Dees with ExVoto Vintage, and I am so excited to do a guest post today on Collect V. Thank you to ALL the Collect V girls for letting me be part of it!

They just finished up their Summer Favorites series (which I loved) and I want to add some of my favorites to the list…

1. Chanel Glossimer Lipgloss in Amour::  I love glosses and this color is beautiful!
2. Laura Mericier eyeshadow in Guava::  I love this as an all over shadow especially in the summer.  It has just enough color.
3. Michael Kors Runway watch::  I wear this almost everyday!
4. Sheridan French Georgina Dress in Turquoise:: Love the color and the interesting ikat pattern.
5. Aveda Air Control Hairspray:: Light hold but does the job and LOVE the way it smells!
6. Michael Kors Sahale Wedges::  I love this wedge and the color goes with almost anything!
7. O.P.I Polish in Hot and Spicy::  I love this color during the summer and Cajun Shrimp comes in a close 2nd-- I switch back and forth!

And to top off this whole look, I would add turquoise.  Turquoise is my absolute favorite way to accessorize in the summer months!  Something about turquoise just makes me happy!

This ExVoto Vintage necklace is one that I have been wearing all summer long-- formally known as the "Margaret" necklace.  Not only is it turquoise but it has this super cute Sparrow charm that just adds to the happiness factor when wearing it.

As the Sales and PR Coordinator for ExVoto, I want to share some ExVoto love with all of you!  I want to give all Collect V readers the chance to win this necklace!

Welcome to Miami

William and I recently enjoyed a quick getaway to Miami for our five year anniversary. And let me just say...It far exceeded my expectations! Our hotel was lovely, the service was top-notch, the food was amazing, and the weather couldn't have been better. It was a perfect long weekend trip.

In typical Anne Read fashion, I didn't get a single picture to share of the two of us. Shame on me. Fortunately, I was able to find great pictures of our hotel and restaurants online.

If you're planning a trip to Miami, definitely give The Betsy Hotel a look. Not only are the interiors beautiful, the service is tough to beat. The hotel originally opened in 1942 as The Betsy Ross Hotel and reopened in 2009 as The Betsy after being closed for a 3-year renovation. It has a completely different look than the typical South Beach Art Deco style. Maybe that's why I like it so much!

As luck would have it, BLT Steak is the restaurant in The Betsy, so we had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast here each morning. BLT Steak is a must, if only for the popovers! I even brought the recipe back with me. Can't wait to give it a try!

After hearing rave reviews from friends about the sushi at Sushi Samba, we had to give it a try. It was spectacular! You can view the menu here. Our favorite food all weekend were the taquitos! Both the yellowtail and lobster were divine.

Quite possibly, one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever experienced is Cecconi's. William and I love great Italian food, and this does not disappoint. It's the kind of place where you want to sip wine and linger for a while. And that's exactly what we did.
