Designer Spotlight: Ryan Korban

I have had this image saved on my iPad for some time now. I love everything about this room, from the combination of neutrals to the tufted leather sofa and of course the animal skins. This is the work of New York interior designer, Ryan Korban. To me, he has a very definitive style. You can see a space and know he designed it before you are told. So, since I have had this photo saved, I have been looking for a pair of chairs that I could cover in a hide just like these below.

This is one of the pair that I have. I think they are a pretty close match! Now I just have to find the perfect hide and have them recovered. I am really excited to see how they turn out. I will post a picture of the finished product hopefully soon!

More work by Ryan Korban. Do you think he is as talented as I do?

Paper Supply

While doing some spring cleaning, I organized all of my gift wrap, ribbons, and cards together in one drawer. Smart, huh? I specifically remember grouping all of my enclosure cards in one little box. Well...months later, that little box is nowhere to be found. Bummer.

My previous enclosure cards were simple, traditional, and pretty formal. They were absolutely lovely, but I'm thinking about spicing it up this time around.

I turned to Etsy because of their massive amount of paper goods. I am definitely drawn to bold colors and geometric designs, and you can't beat their low prices! Which do you think I should buy?

The Bold and the Beautiful

Ever since Kate's nursery color post, I have been thinking about all things navy. Navy walls can really tie a room together when paired with the right accent color(s), making a really great statement. Also, because blue is a cool color, painting a room navy makes it suprisingly calming and serene; I love it for a bedroom for that reason. My favorite color pairings are navy and bright pink and navy and orange (I absolutely hate to admit that to our Auburn readers).

I am loving the high gloss look the best- so dramatic! What do you think of these bold but beautiful walls?

Need a suggestion for a paint color? The best navy blue paint (IMO) is Farrow and Ball Hague Blue. It comes with glowing recommendations from MFAMB too!

The Blazer

In my opinion, a blazer is a wardrobe staple. They come in many colors and styles and can really make a look. Now that we have started into the fall and temperatures will soon be cooler (hopefully), I am really looking forward to pulling out the long sleeves!

A few I have my eye on.
