Like a Local- Atlanta Food Trucks

A new craze has hit Atlanta- food trucks!! While food trucks have been showing up at special events for a while, there has been some new organization around when and where they will be so more people can follow this craze! I went to the new Food Truck Thursdays event in Buckhead last week for dinner (every Thursday from 6-10 pm in the parking lot next to Buckhead Theater on Roswell Road) and all I can say is YUMMO! This event was super cool and hip- you buy your food at one of the many food trucks and then can go inside the Buckhead Theater to buy drinks and enjoy your delicious food. My favorite truck was definitely Tex's Tacos. I got the Pastor de Puerco Quesadilla and it was heaven. I really have never had a better quesadilla in my life! They make frequent appearances in Midtown, Virginia-Highlands and Buckhead so track them down!

A couple of other regular events are the Howell Mill Food Park (every Tuesday from 6-10pm at Howell Mill and Collier), Street Food Thursdays in Midtown (every Thursday from 11am-2pm outside Woodruff Arts Center) and Food Truck Wednesdays in the Highlands (every Wednesday from 6-10pm in the parking lot across from Osteria on Highland Ave.)

Click here for the Atlanta Street Food Coalition site to look at all of the registered food trucks and vendors. This site also links to many of their blogs, menus and schedules.

Now go find you a food truck!
